Reiki has no adverse effects |
|
People in India can sometimes
be very superstitious. They would think that Reiki healing has got something mysterious or
miraculous in it. Similar kinds of misconceptions exist about hypnosis in the Indian
community. Reiki is only a positive and harmonizing creative energy that cannot do any
harm to anything. It can do only good.
There is a peculiar clinical observation about Reiki like few other systems of Natural
medicine that the disease which is being treated might sometimes get little aggravated,
before getting eliminated from the body totally. The toxins come out to the surface before
getting eliminated. |

Reiki has no negative
interactions with other healing modalities |
|
Just like Yoga when properly
done there are no contraindications for the practice of Reiki. It can be used with any
other mode of treatment since it is a non-invasive therapy. Even doctors who strongly
disbelieve in Alternative Medicine, would have no reservations against the use of Reiki.
It is recommended that for small injuries, surgeries and certain life threatening
conditions, Reiki could be used as a complementary therapy. It would reduce the treatment
span and dosage of the allopathic medicines which have side effects. This in turn would
reduce the adverse effects of the drugs and promote early recovery from surgery. Certain
terminally ill cancer cases have been treated with Reiki and doctors were surprised to see
the reduction in pain without painkillers and an increase in survival time. |

Reiki healers do not need to know modern
medical diagnosis |
|
Reiki heals and the healer
just acts as a medium for the healing. The healer need not have any medical knowledge or
even he may not even know the modern medical diagnosis. As discussed earlier, Reiki flows
wherever there is maximum disharmony according to it's own innate laws. A Reiki
practitioner has only got the role of being a medium for the healing Reiki to pass through
his hands in to the patient's body.
In the classical method of treatment, some hand positions are recommended so that the
patient feels that his entire body is getting healed. It is of some psychological benefit
to the patient. Some Reiki practitioners at the Master level and above develop a kind of
intuition through which their hands automatically go to those parts of the patient's body,
which have maximum disharmony. |

The Reiki is not symptomatic but
curative |
|
As previously stated Reiki
goes to the greatest level of imbalance in the body, it's organs and the systems. Some
patients may experience that even if the Reiki practitioners' hands are put on the chest
they get vibrations in the knees. When enquired, it may be found that the patients were
suffering from knee pains due to arthritis. Hence it is evident that Reiki treats at the
root cause level and goes to the area in the body, which has the greatest level of
imbalance or malfunctioning. People getting treated by Reiki do feel that their symptoms
are reduced. It is not due to the placebo effect, but the real process of cure being
initiated by the diseased organ. |

Reiki is an excellent tool for stress
management |
|
The single most common
reaction of patients after the first session of Reiki is that of being felt extremely
relaxed. This means that Reiki acts as a stress reliever in most of the cases. In today's
society, the worst enemy of people is stress and the related disorders. It is being proved
more and more scientifically that the mind is the culprit behind physical disorders. The
group of disorders of this kind are called as psychosomatic diseases. They include
migraine, chronic sinusitis, asthma, hypertension, psoriasis, etc. If people who are
subjected to a lot of stress in their lives, use Reiki as a preventive management of
stress, the prevalence of the above disorders could be reduced to a minimum. |
