WEEK 5
This week, a heart forming plate has developed. Formation of the central nervous system(brand) and muscle bone formation are in early stages. During this time the basis of your baby's skeleton is also forming. This week the cluster of cells that had begun to look like a round,solid mass have started to grow length wise and now the embryo has a head as well as a tail end.Your developing baby has not grown a great deal larger.Its about 0.05 inch long i.e. approx. 1.25 mm.

WEEK 6
This week also marks the development of the umbilical cord along with the accompanying blood vessels that helps connect this precious little one to you.Your baby now has a full-fledged blood stream that has just about begun to circulate blood. The heart tubes are flushed,and contractions of the heart begins.This can be seen on ultrasound. This week your baby is about 0.08 to 0.6 inch (2 to 4 mm) crown to rump length. Crown to rump length is the sitting height or distance from top of baby's head to its rump or bullock.

WEEK 7
The baby has an excellent growth this week. The leg buds are beginning to appear as short fins. The arm buds have grown longer.The heart bulges from the body. By this time, it has divided into separate right and left heart chambers.The eyes and nostrils are developing. The intestines are developing.The appendix and the pancreas are present.The central hemispheres which make up the brain are also growing. The baby's growth has an incredible spirit. At the beginning of the seventh week the crown-to-rump length of the baby is 0.16 to 0.2 inch (4 to 5mm). By the end of the week your baby has grown to 0.44 to 0.52 inch (11 to 13mm) about the size of a green pea.

WEEK 8
This is an important week as most of the internal organs have developed in their basic form even though they have not taken their final shape as yet. Eyelids folds are forming on its face.The tip of the nose is present. Internal and external ears are forming. In the heart, the aortic and pulmonary valves are present and distinct. Elbows are present and the arms and legs extend forward. The crown to rump length of your baby is 0.56 to 0.8 inch (14 to 20 mm).
