| IMPORTANCE OF
PLAYING FOR CHILDREN - Mrs.
Margaret Mascarenhas |
It is never too early to start thinking of your child's development, whether physically,
mentally or socially. There is no hard and fast rule at what age a child joins a
playschool. Sending a child to a playschool is one of the major milestones in his life,
and many factors should be taken into consideration. |

|
Why send a child
to a playschool ?
Playschools are generally a good place to send your child if he has nobody to interact and
play with at home.
However, each session should not be too long as young children have a very short attention
span.
One should also interact with the child at home that, would get the best out of him
because he needs a trusting environment.
While sending your child to a playschool the key point to note is your child feels
comfortable in the presence of other children. If so, you know he is ready to interact
with other children.
If a parent is sending a child to focus on academics, then it is a very wrong reason. At
this tender age, activities should be very play oriented. Learning through fun. If it
becomes too academic, the whole arena of a child's social, mental, physical and emotional
development disappears.

environment of learning through playing, it is no doubt the right place for your child to
